Diving Services UK was established by Dave Shaw in 1993, and steady and sustainable growth has lead us to become the UK’s premier media diving company. We are a commercial diving company specialising in the supply of diving and marine support, with experience on thousands of films.

HSE dive teams for studio and location water sequences, led by experienced diving coordinators and supervisors. We work alongside all departments to plan, rehearse and execute every underwater shot safely.
Marine logistics, safety boats and water safety teams for filming on rivers, canals, lakes, estuaries and open water. We hold the relationships and licences to operate with the MCA, PLA, Environment Agency, Canal & River Trust and other authorities.
1.2 million litres of crystal-clear, heated water (32°C). 20m × 10m × 6m. The only permanently filled studio underwater stage of its kind, designed by Dave Shaw, and managed by our team for over 20 years.
Portable water tanks from 1,000 litres to 40,000 litres. Heating, filtration and portable water treatment systems for up to 1.2 million litres available, plus tip tanks, chutes, walkways, rostrums and a water tractor for exterior tanks.
Drysuits, wetsuits, chest waders, lifejackets, throwlines, life rings, dive cylinders, regulators, BCDs, portable air compressors, underwater green and blue screens, marine props and set dressing – all maintained to current safety standards.
We work hand-in-hand with SFX coordinators and stunt coordinators on underwater rig design, prototype testing, in-water artiste and double training.
Our dive teams assist both construction and art coordinators in creating underwater set builds and carrying out complex underwater construction tasks, together with final set dressing.
Our teams work alongside Location Managers every day. We supply safety swimmers and Swiftwater Rescue Technicians (SRT) to carry out location scouts on ponds, lakes, rivers and coastal locations. We can also arrange water testing and risk assessments to ensure that when the filming sequence is taking place the location is safe and as secure as possible.
Design and build consultancy for new or existing studios looking to add water filming capability, from underwater stages to exterior horizon tanks. Projects delivered in the UK, Dominican Republic, China and Hungary.
