The world’s first permanently filled, studio-based underwater stage. The original concept was Dave’s. He led the design and oversaw the build, and Diving Services UK has managed the facility on behalf of Pinewood Studios ever since.
Dave designed the Caribbean’s first purpose built, marine focused studio complex. Formerly Pinewood Dominican Republic, it features an exterior marine tank with a natural ocean horizon and a 60,000 sq ft special-effects water facility, purpose designed for large scale marine production.
Consulted from pre-feasibility through master planning, construction and into practical completion of the indoor and exterior marine shooting environments, including an underwater stage, exterior horizon tank and permanent bluescreen backing structure. With over 2 million sq ft of total facility, WSQ is currently the largest film studio in the world.
